Alan Lawson, a Leblanc Artist and long-time resident of Las Vegas, Nevada has played for many major Las Vegas Stars such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, and Tony Bennett. He has been an orchestra member of over thirty Broadway Shows including Chicago, Evita, Chorus Line, and West Side Story.
Alan’s credits include from the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Baltimore, Maryland to the Casino De Paris show at the Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has been “on the road” with various stars and bands such as Jimmy “J.J.” Walker, Debbie Reynolds, The Johnny Mann Singers, and Gate (an east coast rock group in the late 70’s).
He was originally trained as a classical musician. His first instrument was the clarinet and his clarinet teachers have included Leon Russianoff, Ignatius Gennusa, Thomas Gasparino, Chris Wolfe, and Raphael Saunders.
Alan is particularly known for his clarinet expertise but he is also an excellent “doubler” on flute and saxophone. His flute teachers have included Bonnie Lake and Jo Stoup. His saxophone teachers have included Joe Viola, and Thomas Gasparino. His first jazz band credits include Hank Levy’s Towson State Jazz Band.
Alan has just completed a year run with the Producers Broadway Show in Las Vegas. He is the musical director for SuperStyk, a contemporary woodwind quartet.
