For Teachers & Band Directors
What would it be like to teach an entire class, with perfect reeds, starting within five minutes of the bell? What if every woodwind on the field had a perfect reed, rain or shine, hot or cold?
In 2007, The Woodlands High School Band and the Marian Catholic High School Band placed 4th and 5th in the Grand Nationals. In 2008, Marian placed 4th, and in 2009, Marian placed 3rd (First in the AA Class), and the Woodlands placed 7th. The woodwind sections of both bands played Légère reeds. Check out the Prestige Band pages for Marian and The Woodlands for more details and some comments from the band directors.
Barnaby Robson is Principal Clarinet in the Philharmonia Orchestra of London, and plays Légère reeds. Check out his Artist Page. First Chairs Wenzel Fuchs (Berlin Philharmonic) and Ernst Ottensamer (Vienna Philharmonic) began using Légère reeds in 2009. Finally, Larry Combs, the former Principal Clarinet of the Chicago Symphony has adopted our new Signature Series reeds full time. Check out Mr. Combs' Artist Page.
Légère reeds are proven to work at the highest levels in orchestras, bands and teaching of all kinds. The reeds are durable and consistent and need no time to warm up. They are tough, and can last for months, making them an economical choice. It's amazing!
It is no longer true that your students need to get used to a cane reed. It is entirely possible for a player to progress from a student to the First Chair in one of the world's premier symphony orchestras without any of the suffering and frustration of poor reeds. It's time to give your students the Freedom to Perform.
(P.S. Don't forget to get one for yourself. Légère reeds don't dry out and are perfect for teachers and doublers that have to play intermittently. New York's top session and pit pro, John Moses, uses Légère reeds because of the sound, but as a doubler, the instant response is critical. Have a look at John's comments here.)
