Larry Combs is one of the world's premier orchestral clarinetists. A student of Stanely Hastey and Leon Russianoff, Combs joined the Chicago Symphony in 1974. He was appointed Principal Clarinet in 1978, and served in this role until 2008.
Larry Combs founded the Chicago Chamber Musicians and the jazz ensemble the Combs-Novak Sextet. He is an endorsing clinician for Leblanc. He is on the Faculty at DePaul University School of Music and is in demand around the world for concerts and masterclasses.
