“I was first introduced to Légère reeds, while in college, by my saxophone instructor and loved how it was basically identical to playing on a cane reed! Then, around 2012 or so, I made the switch to solely playing on them on all my saxes: soprano, alto, tenor, and bari, as well as for clarinet. Being a lesson teacher and usually having to play multiple horns at a gig, I needed to know that after putting the horn down for a while, I’d have an immediate response upon picking it up and with Légère, there’s never any doubt.

“The Foothill High School Marching Band would like to thank Légère for its support of the band through the provision of Légère reeds.” – Lisa Burkhead, FHS Principal

In its short history, the Foothill High School Bands have distinguished themselves apart on the national stage.  Foothill High School first opened its doors in 1999.  The current Director of Bands, Mr. Travis Pardee, joined the program in 2002 with approximately 80 band members.  Since that time, the band and color guard programs have grown to almost 350 members.

“I began playing with the Légère Synthetic bassoon reed about a year ago. I really enjoy using it because it relieves the stress I normally feel throughout the rainy season with conventional reeds in the extremely humid conditions of summer both in Korea and Japan. Because it performs well regardless of weather I really can always rely on Légère reeds. With my extensive practice and performance schedule, Légère reeds last through the long hours and even after long pause.

“As a theatre musician, being able to pick up my horns and know the reeds will perform beautifully every time means I can concentrate on a great performance and not worry about my reeds. I'm currently playing A Chorus Line at the Stratford Festival using Légère reeds on clarinet/contrabass clarinet/baritone sax/bassoon.” – Merlin Williams

“Légère reeds have provided me with a reed that I can feel confident playing at any place and at any time. It doesn’t matter where I am, I know exactly how my Légère reeds are going to play.” – Kyle Baldwin

"As the baritone saxophonist of the Kenari Quartet, I need equipment that is incredibly consistent and allows me to blend with the group. Since we have all started playing Légère reeds, the group sound has become much more homogeneous and lush. We also have the confidence and flexibility to play musically without worrying about reeds when we are traveling." - Steven Banks (Baritone Sax)
