Graduated in philosophy and graduated from the conservatory, in the late 90s he collaborated with the Civica Jazz Band of Milan. He attended advanced courses of Siena Jazz and Nuoro Jazz and with musicians Steve Grossman, Dave Liebman, Bobby Watson, Wes Anderson and Buster Williams.
In the early 2000s, Ferrario moved to Bologna. He collaborated with Andrea Mingardi and Claudio Lolli. He also took part in the summer tours of Loretta Goggi and Stadio.
Since 2020, he has been Vasco Rossi’s official saxophonist.
He takes part in numerous festivals and musical events. In particular, Bologna Jazz Festival, Umbria Jazz Festival and Garda Jazz Festival are remembered.
