Iván is a young and versatile Spanish clarinet player. He started his musical studies at the age of 8 with Mr. Manuel Mefre at the C.P.M. “Andrés Segovia” of Linares (Spain) and he got his Bachelor of Music degree in Interpretation – Clarinet in 2015 at the C.S.M. “Manuel Castillo” of Seville, under the guidance of Mr. Javier Trigos. In 2018 he finished the Master Degree at the I.S.S.M. “Vecchi – Tonelli” of Modena (Italy) with Mr. Corrado Giuffredi and Mr. Fabrizio Meloni getting the highest marks: 110 cum Laude and Honourable Mention. He performed in different countries such as Spain, Italy, France, England, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Tunisia and China. He also took lessons with important clarinettists such as José Franch-Ballester, Andreas Sundén, Calogero Palermo, César Martín, Daniel Gilbert, Antonio Salguero, Nicholas Cox, Carlos Gil and others. Deeply involved in chamber music, Iván is always in contact with this genre and he received advice from important professionals.

Iván regularly collaborates as principal and co-principal clarinet with a lot of professional orchestras and ensembles such as Orchestra Della Svizzera Italiana (Switzerland), Orchestra del Teatro Comunale of Bologna, Sinapsi Opera Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Opera Italiana, Virtuosi dell’Opera Italiana, Italian Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra Cantieri d’Arte, Philharmonic Orchestra Terre Verdiane, and he collaborated with Symphonic Orchestras of the Conservatories of Jaén and Seville, Youth Orchestra of Málaga (JOPMA), Youth Orchestra of Andalusia (OJA) and National Orchestra of Italian Conservatories (ONCI). He has been under the baton of some renowned conductors as Vladimir Ashkenazi, John Axelrod, Markus Poschner, Gianluigi Gelmetti, Michele Mariotti, Pablo González, Matteo Pagliari, Dennis Russell Davies, Isaac Karavtchevsky, Philippe Béran, Jean-Luc Tingaud, Valerio Galli, Flavio Emilio Scogna, Sebastiano Rolli, Andrea Battistoni and others.
He recorded for Brilliant Classics, RSI (Switzerland), Canal Sur TV (Spain), National TV of Tunisia, Télévision Tunisienne 1 (Tunisia), Parma TV, Sky Classica, RAI1 and RAI2 (Italy). In 2018 he cooperated in the recording of the CD “Menotti: The Medium and The Telephone” with the Orchestra Filarmonica Italiana and of the CD “Clarinettomania” together with Corrado Giuffredi and the Vecchi-Tonelli Wind Orchestra, recording as soloist the work “Concertpiece” for two clarinets by Michele Mangani.In addition, he maturated a good experience in teaching in different Masterclass and courses of specialization in Spain and abroad. In July 2018 he taught at the 5th International Clarinet Festival of Xi’an, China and he played a recital as soloist. Currently, Iván is a Backun Artist and a Légère Artist and he plays on MoBa clarinet, Pomarico Mouthpieces and Légère Signature European Cut reeds.
