Music Educator and Saxophonist

………“I had been a part of the Young Saxophonist’s Institute, a summer camp geared towards providing master-classes, chamber music, and large ensemble opportunities to students in the Houston and DFW metroplex for a number of years. We brought in many top-notch local players to be guest clinicians and instructors for our camp. One year we brought in my good friend, Johnny Salinas, who at that time was and still is a Légère artist. Remembering the clarity, power, and finesse he possessed the first time I heard him play with the Légère is something I’ll never forget. I had my reservations, but I finally took the plunge and gave them a try.

And I have never looked back. It’s amazing how I haven’t sacrificed any part of my sound and playing after a lifetime of using cane reeds. Now, my “ritual” only consists of assembling the horn!

It’s a no brainer. Légère is the way to go. So much more time is available to practice now that reed-prep is no longer required. They sound immaculate, respond quickly, and feel great. Their consistency reed to reed is also sensational!

Thank you to Légère for letting me focus on making music!’” - Lee Redfearn
