"The European Clarinet Bb Clarinet reed gives me the sound, response, flexibility and constancy that I really envision. I has a very focused sound, with a great proportion of overtones making a very balanced sound. As solo clarinetist, I am constantly on the road, and this can be very challenging with cane reeds, but with the European Signature reeds this problem gets solved, allowing me to feel more comfortable with my music making."  - José Franch-Ballester

"I’d given up on the hope of finding a useable synthetic reed, having tried just about everything. The Signature reed from Legere changes everything. Not only are these more consistent and lasting than cane, they sound as good as the best cane reed, and the tone is more even over the whole range of the instrument. Remarkable!" - Greg Lyons

Légère BETA Testing Project

What is the BETA Testing Project?

Thank you for your interest in the Légère BETA Testing Project; an initiative to involve hobbyist musicians in the development of mainstream and obscure synthetic reeds.

Players submit their musical background profiles that will allow Légère to find players that can test reed prototypes quickly and thoroughly. Players involved in the testing process will be given first access to Légère prototypes and will be expected to provide thorough feedback on the new reeds.

You do not need to be an elite player to particpate! Players chosen to participate in the project will range from Beginner to Advanced skill levels from a diverse range of genres. Testers will be given reeds at any or all stages of the development process: Concept stage, Design stage, and/or Final stage.

Why Test?

We believe in woodwind music and we believe all reed players deserve access to quality synthetic reeds. Developing new reeds is a time consuming and labor-intensive process. By engaging in this project, we aim to speed up the release of new products while simultaneously giving players early access to highly anticipated reeds.

Thank you.

Thank you for choosing to be a part of this project. We are excited and motivated to create the first synthetic reeds for many obscure instruments and also as we improve reeds for mainstream instruments.

“Légère Reeds are extremely dependable, durable, and produce a wonderful tone color. Our students enjoy the consistency of the reeds and how easy they are to maintain. We switched our entire clarinet and saxophone sections to Légère Reeds in 2016. That switch helped us produce an undefeated 2016 ISSMA Class D State Champion marching band. Springs Valley loves Légère Reeds!” – L.
