July 2010: Légère welcomes Music Gear PTE Ltd. as our new distributor in Singapore
Tim Elvy, VP of Sales for Légère Reeds is pleased to welcome Music Gear PTE Ltd. to our international distribution network. Music Gear will be responsible for our Singapore distribution. Légère Reeds are now sold in at least 50 countries around the world, and our network is expanding rapidly as the word-of-mouth spreads.
June 2010: Bradly Grant joins Légère Artist Roster
Bradley Grant, first reed player on Billy Elliot The Musical in London's West End, is the latest theatre professional to rely on Légère reeds night after night on all his reed instruments. Check out Bradley's Artist Page
May 2010: David Beecroft joins Légère Artist Roster
David Beecroft, a fixture in the German saxophone scene, has recently become a Légère Artist. David has worked with Guy on the design of several of our reeds, most notably the new Signature Series Alto and Tenor Sax reeds. Read more about David here.
April 2010: President's Award to Musik Wein
We are pleased to announce that the 2009 President's Award for the Distributor of the Year was presented to our German Distributor, Musik Wein, at the MusikMesse in Frankfurt. Musik Wein has presided over exceptional sales growth in the German market.
April 2010: Nick Kückmeier wins the Légère Award of Excellence
We are pleased to announce that Nick Kückmeier, one of Europe's premier mouthpiece makers, has won our Award of Excellence for his outstanding sales in Austria and his dedication woodwind artists. January 2010: Signature Series Tenor Sax Reeds
Légère Reeds Ltd introduces Signature Series reeds for Tenor Sax at NAMM 2010. Légère’s recently introduced Signature Series clarinet reeds have been widely hailed as a breakthrough in synthetic reeds, and are used by many professionals, including Barnaby Robson, Principal Clarinet of the Philharmonia in London, Larry Combs, former Principal of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and John Moses, a leading session and pit pro in New York. Larry Combs has said the Signature Series reeds are "... equal to or better in many respects than the best cane reeds”. John Moses has called Légère “…the reed of the future”.
Now Légère is pleased to introduce Signature Series technology for the Tenor Sax. The new reeds use a special material and profile to capture all of the colour and expression that elite players expect.

December 2009: Légère welcomes SML as our new distributor in France
Tim Elvy, VP of Sales for Légère Reeds is pleased to welcome SML of Paris to our international distribution network. Founded in 1935 as a manufacturer of oboes, clarinets and eventually saxophones, SML is now a leading distributor of woodwinds and accessories in France.
November 2009: Marian Catholic High School Places 3rd at BOA Grand Nationals!
Using Légère reeds, Marian Catholic once again had an outstanding season. On November 14 2009, Marian captured 3rd place overall in the finals of the BOA Grand Nationals at the Lucas Oil Dome in Indianapolis. Marian also earned first place in Class AA at BOA Grand Nationals, while garnering first place in AA for Outstanding Music Performance, Outstanding Visual Performance and Outstanding General Effect.
The Marian Band, which will represent Illinois in the Tournament of Roses Parade® on Jan. 1 in Pasadena, Calif., also won its 30th consecutive Illinois Marching Band state championship in Class on Oct. 24 at Illinois State University.
November, 2009: Counterpoint Music named Canadian Distributor for Légère Reeds
Tim Elvy, VP of Sales for Légère Reeds is pleased to announce the appointment of Counterpoint Musical Services as its new Canadian Distributor. Effective Nov 1st, Counterpoint will be responsible for the distribution of Légère Reeds throughout Canada including Quebec. Elvy States "We are pleased to join forces with Counterpoint. Sept. 2009: Légère reeds are now used by many players in the world's best orchestras.
Our reeds continue to make inroads in the world's top orchestras. The British Publication Grammaphone ranked the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic Orchestras as two of the top three symphony orchestras in the world. Many of the players in these two orchestras have been using our reeds with great success for months, including the First Chairs Wenzel Fuchs in Berlin and Ernst Ottensamer in Vienna.

July 2009: Tim Elvy heads up Légère sales team
TIM ELVY has been appointed as Vice President of Sales Worldwide for Légère Reeds in Barrie, Ontario, Canada.
The appointment was announced by Guy Légère, President and Mark Kortschot, Vice President.
In his new role as VP, Sales Worldwide, Elvy will be responsible for the Sales and Marketing of all products within the Légère Reeds brand. June 2009: John Moses - top New York session pro becomes a Légère Artist
And the roster of top pros choosing Legere for their everyday work continues to grow. John Moses, considered the top session and pit pro in New York, has switched to Legere full time. In his words - "I am thrilled to know that in my lifetime there is now a synthetic reed that works well for all my professional needs, and in every venue here in NYC. Larry Combs is the latest in a series of high profile clarinet players using Légère reeds extensively, and has just joined our prestigious group of Légère Artists. While Mr. Combs has been using our reeds in a variety of settings for years, our new Signature Series reeds have really impressed him with their very natural feel and sound. April 2009: Recent Légère Sitings in Europe - Wenzel Fuchs
Légère reeds are now being used increasingly in Europe. Wenzel Fuchs, Principal Clarinet of the Berlin Philharmonic used a Légère reed for the Philharmonic's most recent European tour. Mr. Fuchs is using our German Cut reed in combination with a new mouthpiece made by master mouthpiece maker Nick Kückmeier specifically for our reeds. Dec. 2008: Congratulations to the Marian Catholic High School Band
Marian Catholic continued their outstanding record, winning Class 2A and placing 4th overall in the 2008 U.S. National Marching Band Championships.
